The Golden Globes 2013 festivities weren't without its share of fashion. It's safe to say that long flowing dresses are in this year. The New York Times' On the Runway blog reported on Jan. 14 that tulle and taffeta were strong.
Many celebrities had to be careful walking on the red carpet. This is because they wore long trains, fishtail hems and sweeping ballroom gowns.
Lucy Liu certainly made a statement in her blue floral Caroline Herrara gown. The gown was overwhelming on the petite actress. The reason could've been that the busy floral print that didn't work with the cut of the dress.
Zooey Deschanel also stepped out onto the red carpet in a ball gown. She wore a red Oscar De La Renta gown with white pearls. She was hoping to sweep everyone away, but the gown fell flat on her.
Color was also strong at the red carpet event. Many celebrities wore red to match the color of the carpet. Other celebrities opted for nude or white gowns. Katherine McPhee took a risk in a black Theyskens for Theory gown with a plunging neckline.
Unfortunately, there weren't many memorable gowns on the Golden Globes 2013 red carpet. Most of them took the safe route this time around. Amy Adams and Isla Fisher looked like twins in their nude gowns. Naomi Watts wore a plain burgundy custom made gown by Zac Posen. Looks like they stuck to their favorite designers instead.
