The Golden Girls were golden legends and with the death of Rue Mcclanahan, former Golden Girls co-star Betty White is mourn stricken.
"Rue was a close and dear friend," said the 88-year-old White to the New York Daily News. "It hurts more than I ever thought it would, if that's even possible."
Mcclanahan, who played "Blanche Devereaux died of a stroke on Thursday after being rushed to New York Presbyterian. She was 76.
Rue Mcclanahan had suffered a minor stroke earlier this year after enduring bypass surgery. She was a breast cancer survivor and survived by one son from her first marriage - Mark Bish.
Mcclanahan was the second Golden Girl to pass away, leaving Betty White as the last Golden Girl standing.
McClanahan and White's co-stars Beatrice Arthur and Estelle Getty past away - Arthur dying of cancer last year at 86 and Getty in 2008.
