A tough week of losses for the early days of television. Yesterday we learned of the death of Shirley Temple and today we received the news that "the father of TV sketch comedy," Sid Caesar, died after a brief illness in Beverly Hills, California. He was 91.
Caesar was an actor, comedian, writer and musician. He was best know for his role in the golden age of television with his series "Show of Shows" and "Caesar's Hour."
Fans of the movie "Grease" and the sequel "Grease 2" will remember Caesar for his role as Coach Calhoun.
