Former world champion Bill Goldberg has essentially dismissed rumors of a return to the WWE, especially as part of WrestleMania 30 by saying via Twitter that he was not currently negotiating with the company. Rumors started Wednesday and picked up steam on Thursday that Goldberg was the next former star the WWE was reaching out to that for a long time the company had no interest in. With the WWE doing business with the Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan, who are both part of the forthcoming WWE2K14 video game Goldberg was immediately mentioned as the next logical star to work with the company again. Goldberg is also a featured character in the upcoming video game.
Goldberg, who is still in shape at 47 years old, has often been quoted in interviews that he would like to have one last big match so his son could see him in the ring.
Though no longer relevant in professional wrestling Goldberg has found a way to keep his name about by doing interviews and teasing a return to wrestling in some capacity. Goldberg was put over in a big way during the WCW/WWF ratings wars by defeating then WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan during a live Nitro show.
Of late current WWE star Ryback has been compared to Goldberg and fans have chanted "Goldberg" at Ryback during his matches.
There has been talk that Ryback v. Goldberg could be a possibility at WrestleMania 30 and would give Goldberg that one last big match that he covets.
According to insiders there has been discussion to make Goldberg part of WrestleMania 30 despite his denials.
