An ostentatious Lamborghini Aventador LP-700-4 prototype, crafted at a scale of 1:8 is currently on display in Dubai and is reportedly carved from a 500-kilogram block of solid gold but the end product will have about 25 kilograms of it. The precious baubles that will be placed on the model vehicle have an estimated value of about $2.64 million alone according to its manufacturer RGE Robert Gulpen Engineering reports CNBC.
Since the supercar model which boasts a V12 engine has not been produced yet, potential zillionaires can view its specs, then customize it to their own liking.
The not-made-for-the-road, fighter jet-looking vehicle which has thus far earned three Guinness Book of World Records as: the most expensive model car, the most secure showcase (featuring bulletproof glass) and the most luxurious logo, will be auctioned with a set starting price of $7.5 million. A reported $650,000 of the vehicle's total price will be donated to charity.
Are there tons of takers?
Well, not exactly according to an unnamed Lambo spokesperson, who spoke to CNBC stating, there have yet to be any expressions of interest from potential buyers.
Hmmm, dare I say this little number would be a real standout in a rap video!
