Police in Memphis, TN, are searching for suspects who opened fire on 2-postal workers Monday morning, in the rural town of Henning, which is about 45-miles northease of Memphis. Henning has an approximate population of 1,200; and the postal office is located inside the town's community center. At this point, there have been no arrests or known motives for the murders; only that the suspects are to be considered armed and dangerous.
Keith Morris, the assistant inspector in charge of the US Postal Inspection Service in Memphis, stated that there are several possible motives but have not released information about what is suspected. At the time, law enforcement is asking for the community's help with any information regarding this incident. Postal officials have offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
Victims
The Victims have been identifed as:
- Judy Spray, 58 (postal carrier)
- Paula Robinson, 38 (retail clerk)
At the time of the incident, Judy and Paula, were the only employees inside the post office.
An employee at a nearby gas station stated that she is able to see the post office from her store and that she noticed around 8:25 am, that it was not loud or busy as usual. "I knew something didn't feel right because it was real quiet; but then all that I heard was sirens over the next 15 minutes."
