Spring is a time that creates greater awareness and appreciation of the environment. In winter, everything becomes frigid and deafeningly silent, fostering less appreciation for nature. We tend to conserve natural resources, when we are more aware of it.
Going Green for Groceries (Sold Out)
On Sunday, March 24 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., the Irvine Nature Center is offering Going Green for Groceries, a program suitable for ages 4 and older. Pre-registration is required as walk-ins are not allowed.

Decorate a reusable shopping bag while learning about the life cycle of a grocery bag, and how to reduce use of plastic bags. The bag and other materials such as, “...paint, sequins, stitching, stamps and buttons.”
What You Need to Know
The Irvine Nature Center is located at 11201 Garrison Forest Road in Owings Mills across from Jemicy Upper School (click here for directions).
It offers many learning activities for children, families and adults. Families can enjoy hiking, while children will have fun with hands-on activities. Adults can enjoy seminars, classes, sales, and other events.
Admission to the Irvine Nature Center is free, although some programs require a registration fee.
The Nature Center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday, and the Nature Store is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday as well as 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It is closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
