Going for the Gold -- with Marigold Kitchen

When dining at a place that really impresses you, it's nice to be able to give them kudos. This particular restaurant also has a bit of a backstory, and I wanted to share it with you, so here goes:

This past weekend, my wife Kate and I enjoyed dinner at Marigold Kitchen, an excellent BYO in Philadelphia (http://marigoldkitchenbyob.wordpress.com). It was an amazing evening of taste sensations like I have never had before!

Now for the story: I served on the submarine in the Navy with Tom Lanza, Tim’s uncle. They live in NJ and Kate and I are part of a wine making group with Tom and his brother Jeff and Eileen. We have an aging barrel of Cab/Syrah to be bottled this spring.

I thought proper honors were due, so consider this my official "shout out" to Marigold Kitchen. You can see the young Chef de Cuisine, Tim Lanza, with his proud parents Jeff and Eileen in the photo in this article.
