There were two movies to open this weekend and both were able to get into the top five at the box office with one of them almost hitting triple digits.

To no one’s surprise the new movie to get rebooted Godzilla was able to grab the top spot with an estimated $93 million it’s opening weekend. Fans flooded to this movie wanting to see how the 2014 version of this classic would come out. And they were not disappointed getting a 73% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Neighbors drops down to #2 at the box office with an estimated $25.9 million. This movie surprised everyone with it’s opening weekend and looks to be still going strong during the second weekend. It should pass over the $100 million mark next week.

Coming in at #3 is The Amazing Spider-man 2 with an estimated $16.8 million. This movie is not at all meeting the expectations that it wanted despite having an estimated $172 million in total at the box office. It should cross the $200 million mark in a few weeks

The other movie to come out this week is Disney’s new movie Million Dollar Arm with an estimated $10.5 million. The movie is being considering one of the better baseball movies to come out in recent years but the 59% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes speaks otherwise.

Rounding out the top five is The Other Woman with an estimated $6.3 million. The movie had a solid first few weeks but seems to be slowing down at the box office as new movies are coming out.
