There’s more going on at Gamescom than news for nest-gen console exclusives and the latest edition of franchise sequels. Independent developer Vivid Games, creator of “Real Boxing”, announced on day 1 of the event a new game for mobile and tablet devices. The new title is called “Godfire:Rise of Prometheus”.
The new game will be released in early 2014 for iOS and Android. The third person action adventure game is heavily inspired by Greek mythology and lets players control the hero Prometheus. The combat is weapon based and the game has a long list of legendary enemies to defeat in battle from beasts to evil Titans.
The goal in “Godfire: Rise of Prometheus” is to recover the Godfire Spark and return it to the mortal world. A combination of weapon based fighting and puzzle solving will achieve said goal. The game looks like one of the top action-adventure titles for mobile platforms.
CEO of Vivid games Remi Koscielny had this to say about their latest title,” With “Godfire: Rise of Prometheus”, we’re building upon the high standards in graphics and gameplay that we achieved in “Real Boxing” and taking the Unreal 3 engine to fantastic new heights. To help with this process, we've partnered with Oscar-nominated animation studio Platige Image, to work with us on the design, animation, and other graphical elements of the game. We’re also giving the game its own distinct visual style by blending the familiar classical Greek aesthetic with new and exciting futuristic elements.”
