A Daily Word from the Word for Monday, September 1, 2014
“When they sin against You (for there is no one who does not sin), and You become angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, and they take them captive to a land far or near; yet when they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of their captivity, saying, ‘We have sinned, we have done wrong, and have committed wickedness’; and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have been carried captive, and pray toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen, and toward the temple which I have built for Your name: then hear from heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive Your people who have sinned against You.” – 2 Chronicles 6:36-39
These are the words of King Solomon, when he offered up his prayer of dedication for the people. Like Israel, we need to understand that, because our founding fathers cut covenant with God in dedicating this great nation to Him, these United States of America belong to our Sovereign Creator. The reason why we have prospered like no other nation on earth is because of our unbreakable covenant with God Almighty.
Denying that our founding fathers were men of God doesn’t make them anything less than who they were. Likewise, denying that this country was founded on God; and was, is, and always will be One Nation under God, doesn’t negate or weaken our covenant with the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
And like Israel, who also is in covenant with God, we are held accountable to the covenant. We need to constantly pray, bless, and protect our beloved sister Israel, because our destiny is inextricably interwoven with this nation, which is the apple of God’s eye (Zechariah 2:8).
Going against Israel is going against God, and this will bring an utter shaking and judgment upon this nation because of our covenant. And because we are in covenant, God allows or sends His shaking and judgment, not for the purpose of destroying; but for the purpose of repentance, deliverance, and restoration. This nation will be humbled and shaken to its core. But out of the bitter will come the sweet. It is because of our covenant with God that He will not allow judgment for the purpose of utter destruction as a nation; and gives us every opportunity (and even creates opportunity through judgment) for a nation and its people (corporately and individually) to repent so that our Sovereign Creator can restore His blessings back to us. Wrapped in the Father’s judgment and at its center is the Blood of Jesus, which incarnates God Almighty’s sovereign deliverance for all of those who call upon Him.
The Lord put in my spirit to re-run a dream He gave me a year ago concerning the slaughter of those who refused to turn their hearts back to Him (click on the link at the end of this article). God is a loving Father, and He doesn’t allow or bring forth judgment to people to destroy, but rather to give us the opportunity to turn to Him in repentance; thus sparing souls from the final judgment which was established by Satan Himself when he accused God of being a liar and rebelled. God is trying to save us from spending eternity with the devil. Because when that final day comes for each of us, it’s too late—there is no more intercession, no more praying, and no more beckoning from Holy Spirit, as each has chosen their eternal fate.
The Lord is crying out to usher us in before that final judgment. God is reaching for us, to pull us out with His hand of mercy, so that we do not have to experience His final judgment in which He has to surrender permanently every unsaved person to Satan to do with as he pleases for all eternity and apart from God forevermore. I pray this not be you.
Hebrews 10:26-30 travails with this truth: “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord. And again, ‘The Lord will judge His people.’”
And the Savior Himself somberly and soberly knows that there will come a point of no return for every created being when the final atonement for His Blood has been made: “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out. But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the Bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But He answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming” (Matthew 25:6-13).
Father, we repent for hardened hearts and rebellious spirits. We are so sorry that we have sinned against you in thought, behavior, mindsets, attitudes, words, and actions. We repent for operating in the spirit of pride and haughtiness. We come out of agreement with blatant disregard for You and for forsaking the atoning Blood of Jesus. We respond to Your plea which You etched in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “if My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” We humble ourselves to You, Holy God, and we pray, seek Your face, and turn from our wicked ways. In Jesus Name, we thank You that we are in right standing with You because of the Blood of the Risen Savior. Amen and Amen.
Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to submit to the Will of the Father each and every day. Spend time building a relationship with your Divine Daddy through daily conversations, study of His Word, and prayer. Focus on forsaking your ways and thoughts for the perfect and prosperous ways of your Creator. Practice humbling yourself under the mighty hand of God, letting Him exalt you in due season, and casting all your cares upon Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:6-7). And continue to fight the good fight of staying in covenant with your Father; for God, your Eternally-Sure and Secure Foundation, has already given you the victory!
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!
