God loves us all so much! For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Isn’t that verse beautiful? Sadly though some people still think that God is up there keeping track of their every mistake and eagerly waiting to punish them but friends nothing could be further from the truth!
God is love and as John 3:16 states he sent his son into the world to satisfy the penalty of sin. You see God desires for the whole world to experience true joy and eternal life. Does that sound like a God who is up there keeping track of our sins and waiting to punish us? Of course not! God loves the world and he is not willing that any should perish (2nd Peter 3:9). Now maybe you have learned to think that God is distant, cruel or legalistic. Well this article is written to help you understand that God is all about mercy and compassion. Jesus nailed the law to the cross and now we are under grace (Colossians 2:14) (Ephesians 2:8). This is great news!
Friends you can get saved anywhere it doesn't have to always happen in a church! Church is beautiful and a wonderful place to worship and be blessed but God does not only exist in a building; in fact we are his building (1 Corinthians 3:9). Adam and Eve did not go to church but experienced God in the closest relationship ever known to man. The point is that you can talk to God anywhere; you can tell him what is in your heart. Maybe you are having a hard time believing in God or coming to God because of all that you have been through. If that is the case please realize that God sincerely cares and his heart aches for you! He has felt every one of your hurts and is yearning for you to come to him. Jesus said: come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28). Jesus desires to take away your burdens and give you a peace that goes beyond all understanding (Phil 4:7).
Sometimes man-made religion can paint God as a cruel dictator who is unfeeling and distant. But the Bible is filled with God’s mercy and love! It is God’s love letter to us! The first book of the Bible is Genesis which means “beginnings”. We see Adam and Eve in a perfect paradise but then sin entered through their disobedience of eating the forbidden fruit (Genesis 3:6). And now the first humans had opened the door to a downward spiral leading to death and eternal separation from God. But notice what God said in his sovereignty and mercy in Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel. This verse is referring to the victory that Jesus would have over the devil (crush his head)! Jesus would set all of creation free again! Praise God forever!
Friend God loves you! Come to him and he will set you free! God bless you!
