An old friend of mine clued me in on something going on around the church world today; hypocrisy or a façade, charade, etc. We go to church, worship, pray, even fellowship with other believers but in private we are conducting business to the contrary, sometimes even on the outside.
Who are we kidding? Do we think the all knowing God doesn’t see or know this? This is exactly what the enemy of our soul wants from us. It makes us ineffective as a Christian as God won’t provide any blessing to those who are working contrary to him. What these people think are blessings are soon discovered to be nothing more than a ‘I earned it’ instead of ‘I don’t deserve it’.
God knows everything we do inside and outside. He is sovereign, all knowing, all powerful. To think we can ‘get away’ with anything is ridiculous, selfish and most of all prideful. We deserve NONE of His goodness as we are all born wicked and sinful. Only through the price that Jesus paid can we be saved, and to be saved we must be honest with ourselves and God that we are wicked and then repent of our wickedness.
It takes humility, honesty, and love; three HUGE qualities of a true follower of the Lord. Repentance is a continual practice, not a one and done thing as we like to think. Don’t fool yourself anymore because you’re not fooling God. Find a church that preaches repentance as a continual practice and not a one time thing. Find a church that requires accountability and responsibility. Below is a list of just a few in the area.
