News.cincinnati.com reports that a Cincinnati area juvenile court judge could be in serious trouble for not resolving her cases in a timely fashion. The Cincinnati are judge has put many people’s lives on hold while they wait for her decisions. Ohio’s First District Court of Appeals, based in Cincinnati, has informed the judge that she needs to resolve six cases by October 16. While her cases are backlogged and she could face punitive action for her present work situation, the judge is currently attending a judicial conference in Hawaii. The judge’s lack of action on these cases has public defenders up in arms on behalf of the children that they represent.
John 3:18 says, “‘He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.’” In this passage, Jesus is explaining that those who believe in Christ stand already justified before God the Father because of the Son and his sacrifice on their behalf. Christians in Cincinnati have already been pronounced justified before God.
Unlike the juvenile court judge in Cincinnati, the judgments of God are always just and always timely. When it comes time for him to judge, he will do so efficiently and with righteousness. Cincinnati Christians stand justified before God already and await the day when he will announce their entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven. However, his judgment on those in Cincinnati who do not believe is also just awaiting his pronouncement into eternity. Cincinnati Christians know what the judgment of God is because he has made it known in John 3:18; and, in light of that, Cincinnati Christians should be quick to forgive others and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those who are not justified by Christ.
