Hebrews 6:1719 (NLT)
God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.
One’s ability to trust the Lord is based on our determination to love and trust someone who we cannot see. It is hard enough to rely on living, breathing people that we live in relationships with let alone a God who resides in a higher dwelling place that can only be entered by one’s spirit. You cannot see Him, yet He is real. You cannot touch God, even though His Existences is evident in all of Creation. You must listen closely to hear His Voice, although one may wonder if what they heard is anything more than the longing of our heart for a God of our own. See it is a place of perplexity that requires faith, belief and hope all the time and every day in order to come to the realization that God is for us. He never left us, it was us who chose to turn away that day. Now what? In this life, an apology changes everything if sincere. If the actions of the one who apologies seem real, then we attempt to trust them all over again until they break their promise or breach trust once again. Over and over, we give human beings the chance to be who we desire them to be in the midst of human weakness and uncertainty. But what about the Lord? Why is He not worth more of an effort? God bound himself with an oath. His Oath is that whoever receives the promise of salvation by grace can be perfectly sure that God will never change His Mind and cast us into hell anyway. God is decisive and definitive. His Omnipotent and Sovereign Power makes Him one that we can trust. But will we? God has given us both His Promise and Oath bound by His Word that make them unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. However, we do not trust Him. What will it take for you to decide to trust the Lord today? Those who choose to believe by faith will live with great confidence that is called hope. Hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our soul, but you must have faith to find it. Those who dare to hope in the Promises of God shared in His Word will enter the realm of impossibility that makes everything that He has declared a reality in your life. Not because God changed His Mind, but because you did.
One would think that at some point we would all take the plunge to love and trust the Lord completely. This world offers no hope or future with any certainty. Everything is in the midst of perpetual change. The unthinkable occurs every single day in the midst of the chaos of an earth that is dying. We do not have to be moved by the circumstances of life if we learn to live in the refuge of God’s Presence each and every day. How do you find your way to a place that we cannot see? It is by faith. Faith is the access point of every promise that God has for you. It is the only place that they become a certainty in our life. But this faith must become our belief and change our heart and mind from the inside out to be effective. At some point, we must live what we believe that our God is for us not against us! He never changes His Mind concerning us and all of His Word is true. Without hope, we will be shipwrecked by disbelief every single day missing the Blessings hidden by a God who is intent on bringing us home.
Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)
Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].
Faith is perceiving as real fact what is nor revealed by the senses. Do we really know and understand what faith is? Faith is confidence or trust in something. It is profound belief that is not based on proof. We are born with a measure of faith to invest in this life. (Romans 12:2) God gave it to us to learn to love and trust Him, but most people will carelessly squander it on the world. We choose to believe what we can see, feel, hear and touch and leave the impossible to dreamers turning on those very same ones when they live in the blessing and prosperity of God rather than us. The only difference between you and someone who prospers is faith. Fear never led to a windfall. It causes us to withhold our faith which never takes us beyond what we see. Faith allows us to believe past our natural comprehension. The Lord tells us that faith is assurance, confirmation, the title deed of the things that we hope for being proof of those things that we do not see yet remain convicted that they are a reality. We must learn to trust the Lord and believe that He is working for us not against us. However, it is human nature to be suspicious after all the author of confusion rules this world.
Psalm 27:13-14 (NLT)
Yet I am confident I will see the LORD’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.
I am confident that I will see the Goodness of god in the land of the living (this lifetime). How do we ever come to such a realization in the midst of confusion and chaos? Our oldest daughter attended the funeral of a young woman who died (in our opinion) much too soon. She was a young mother with a husband and three small children snatched from them in a terrible accident. She was devastated. Although they were only casual acquaintances, it would open my child up to emotions that she had never experienced. Her only experience with death has been that of her great grandparents who died after living a long and prosperous life knowing God’s Goodness and stepping into Eternity. God is using this moment to open a new door of faith and confident hope for her but it is through great tragedy that most people learn to trust the Lord. This was never the Lord’s Intent. People were created to rule and reign in this world and have dominion over the earth, but we exchanged our birthright for a lie. The enemy sold us a bogus bill of sale that offered no title deed just captivity and slavery. We stepped right in buying it lock, stock and barrel. God desperate for His Children to come home sent His Only Son to die for the sins of the countless wanders from His Love to open the door for us to return by grace. Who has the faith to step back into righteousness and live as Children of God? Those are the ones who can be confident that they will see the Lord’s Goodness in the land of the living. Every day is choice between life and death. Every decision to a moment to embrace blessing or cursing in our life. By faith, we decide whether or not to focus on “One” thing or diversify our life into a great compromise producing nothing but more uncertainty. “The one thing I ask of the LORD—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me. At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the LORD with music.” (Psalm 27:4-6) If we were absolutely sure that God was for us not against us, then we would seek Him above all things. Who wouldn’t? The Promises of God are too perfect. We would wait until He came settling for nothing less than His Very Best because confidence would keep us there. God will do exactly what He promised to do. He does not need us to help Him or let Him off the hook. We just need to have faith in God. Believing that He is always for us even in the darkest storm overcoming our fear to wait until He comes.
Praise the LORD! How joyful are those who fear the LORD and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever. Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.
I must remain faithful. It is a product of faith. I must remain hopeful. It is the anchor for my soul. My life depends on it as well as the life of my children. If I respect the Lord and His Honesty accepting His Promises as the absolute truth and live what I believe, my children will be successful everywhere I go. Maybe those of you who know me are thinking – “Of course, you do the Lord has healed your son of cancer four separate times.” Well, I have news for you! I am still learning not to fear bad news but remain confident and fearless when my son says, “Mom, I am not feeling well or something is just not right.” Fear seizes me in an instant. I must muster my faith, remind myself of all the great things God has done and is doing in our life, stir up the Holy Spirit and cast my cares once again on the Lord. My initial response though is to accept the fear that is sent my way. It is the Word of God used by His Spirit to remind me what the Lord has said to be true that will change my mind. But if I do not have His Word in my heart and the Sword of His Spirit to do battle, I will fail. I am to live “freely and generously” by faith in God and confident hope, otherwise my hope is thwarted by an inability to trust the Lord and walk in His Way that leads to prosperity and success. The Lord has promised that He has a plan for my life including a future and hope. I must be intent on obtaining His Promises for my life. It begins by believing that He is faithful and true in His Word accepting it as the Truth that defines my life. To know God is not enough, obedience reveals a confident heart filled with love and trust. I will triumph in every situation as a Child of the Living God when I am confident and fearless living by faith and belief that God is who He says that He is, will do what He has promised to do, and waiting until He comes to do it in my life.
Ephesians 1:18-23 (NLT)
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
By faith and confident hope in the Lord, you have great power and authority as God has designated it for us the Body of Jesus Christ. If our hearts could only be flooded with the great light of God’s Overwhelming Love for us, we could understand that purpose of confident hope. It is not designated for natural outcomes but supernatural ones. It is not to bring forth and produce anything that is possible for us but the impossible realities of God’s Precious Promises reserved only for His People. We have a rich and glorious inheritance. If we could come to understand the Greatness of God’s Power at work in us, we could bring the things of Heaven to earth now and see the Goodness of God in the land of the living. But we are so consumed with distrust and distaste for the Lord and the things of God choosing to live in the natural that we never use our faith to produce that hope that makes the impossible totally possible in our life. We wait to run out of options before we choose to believe in the One True God hoping it is not too late to secure Eternity forever. The Resurrection Power that raised Jesus from the dead is alive in you. Not just for that day when the trumpet sounds and the dead in Christ will rise but for right now to impact your life today. It is up to you if you will use your faith to live the supernatural today. It is up to you if confident hope will keep you in position as you wait for His Very Best to come. It is your choice to live what you believe and follow Jesus obeying His Commands and walking His Way. It is completely up to you if you will ever believe that God is for you! But when you do everything will change beginning with your mind! God never changed His Mind about you! He decided to love you before He created you and has done so ever since! The one who changed is you. But you are a person so you can turn back to the Lord and change your mind again. His Grace is sufficient for such a time as this. Will you allow your faith to grow into confident hope today? Those who do will not be moved and can wait until He comes! You will be made full and complete in Jesus Christ as He fills all things everywhere with Himself.
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
All my hope is in the Lord today. When I woke up this morning, fear was knocking on the door of my heart reminding me of all the worries I went to bed with last night. But then Jesus came to the door and said, “Not today!” As if sitting at a giant table with all my fears and worries spread out for the Lord to see, I took my arms and shoved it all across the table to my Lord and Savior. He perfects that which concerns me. Jesus is more than enough. There is no need for me to intervene. I have faith in God because I choose to put it there. My hope is anchors my soul so I will remain in righteousness securing my life to the Plan and Purpose of God accepting nothing less – no substitutes, counterfeits or compromises. I will live hidden and well protected in the Presence of God today. I choose to believe God is for me. I will live what I believe.
Romans 5:1-2 (NLT)
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
