God eggplant: Baton Rouge restaurant chef finds 'GOD' written in sliced eggplant

Sometimes, there are just those things that defy what anyone is able to believe unless they see it with their own eyes. Even then, it's sort of hard to believe. WFSB reported on June 8, 2014, that a chef at Gino's Restaurant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, actually cut into an eggplant and he was shocked when he found the word "GOD" written in the seeds.

Chef Jemarcus Brady was doing his normal work earlier this week in the restaurant when he sliced into an eggplant and was shocked at what he saw.

"I saw a miraculous image formed by the seeds," said Jermarcus Brady. "It spelled out the word God!"

Cutting the eggplants and cooking them up is something that is included in the normal job routines for Brady so he wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. What was out of the ordinary is what he happened to see in the sliced eggplant.

"When you sliced into it, the pattern showed from the seeds that were forming in the inside the letters G-O-D as God," said Brady. "I couldn't think of anything. I just had to tell somebody to come look at it."

Brady wasn't going to keep this to himself so he immediately took the God eggplant and showed it to the owner of Gino's Restaurant as well as some of his coworkers. The Baton Rouge chef is taking this as a sign from God that he is doing things right.

He states that he's struggled throughout his life as he's had financial issues while raising four children, but then became a chef and things have started to get better. His faith in God is what has helped him get through all of it, and he believes that this eggplant is a sign.

"Through the road, he's showing me that 'hey, I'm real' and that's the only thing I can depend on," said Brady.

Brady isn't certain what the God eggplant means exactly, but he knows that it's a sign that God is real, and "there's nothing that can change my mind about that."

Gino Marino, the owner of the restaurant spoke on the God eggplant and said it is the first time he's ever seen anything like that, and he's been in business for close to 50 years.

"You could cut one million eggplants and you'd probably never see that again, it's that rare," said Marino. "God is within us and he has different ways of showing it in our lives, and this is just one way of showing it."
