On Wed. April 9th at 7:30 pm at Portland State University there will be a debate called "Does Anything Supernatural Exist?" The event is free, and parking is free. All details can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/l9s8lar . A Facebook event page can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/l2df3pd .

Representing a Christian worldview will be Phil Smith, a philosophy professor at George Fox University. Phil is a co-author of the book "Being at Home in the World: A New Christian Apologetic" found here: http://tinyurl.com/mjghelf .

Representing an atheistic, naturalistic worldview will be Bernie Dehler. Bernie is a former born-again evangelical Christian, now atheist, who has debated many Christian authors, pastors, and ministry leaders in the local area. His YouTube channel has these videos available for free viewing: http://tinyurl.com/pcz2ak5 . Bernie and Phil have debated prior at Portland State University on the topic of theodicy ("the problem of evil"): http://tinyurl.com/oqvx2lk .

Bernie started a local group called “The Center for Philosophical Naturalism.” The aim of the group is to help people to understand how a naturalistic worldview makes better sense of the world than does a supernatural worldview. They also provide a community (social events, teaching events, etc.) for people who are leaving religion and are looking for a naturalistic support system. The group can be found on Facebook here: http://tinyurl.com/pjnjfup . Their meeting events can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/l6rd4sl .
