Gochujang is the newest trend in the hot sauce rage. It is a brick-red Korean condiment with a rich spicy flavor. The ingredients are red chili powder, glutinous rice powder mixed with powdered fermented soybeans, and salt. With sriracha sauce going mainstream, the spicy sauce trend has been very popular with Americans. Depending on your level of spice tolerance, gochujang may be too spicy for your taste. It is spicier than sriracha sauce and much thicker. It can be used as a condiment on the side or used to add to any food to kick up the spice. Adding a spoonful in a saute sauce will give it a nice spicy blast.
