Go Where The Chefs Go: Bobby Flay pays a visit to Double Crown

Food Netowrk star and chef, Bobby Flay

The sure-fire way to know a spot ranks is when celebrity chefs pay a visit on their rare time off. These are people who know good food and can get in just about anywhere.

Yesterday Chef Bobby Flay fit a visit to Double Crown during his hectic schedule.

If you haven't been, Double Crown is almost as safe a bet as they come. Conceived by the AvroKO Restaurant Group and Executive Chef Brad Farmerie, creators of PUBLIC and The Monday Room, this is a partnership that excels.

The menu explores the culinary duality arising between the British Empire, India and Southeast Asia. Some examples of the dishes are: miso-glazed bone marrow (a must), duck steamed buns, Tandoori foie gras, venison Wellington and much more.

I hope you have been watching Next Food Network Star, of which Bobby is the host and one of the main judges. This season has been fantastic, last episode was their visit to our set at Rachael Ray's talk show. When they were at our studio filming I thought that some of the contestants truly have the charisma required.

Chef Flay is in town to host an amazing culinary event this Monday for charity at The Bowery Hotel. It is called Chefs For Scher and for more info visit their website here. I believe there are tickets still available!

Was it mentioned that Flay just opened a new BBP (Bobby's Burger Palace) in Connecticut within Mohegan Sun Casino? Not to mention his hit Food Network shows like Grill It! with Bobby Flay, Throwdown and Boy Meets Grill. Told you these celebrity chefs are busy!

Double Crown is located at 316 Bowery Street, between Bleecker Street and East Houston Street. The best way to make a reservation is via Opentable (click here) or calling the main line at (212) 254-0350.
