The enjoyment of beer goes back a long time in human society. Gods and humans, alike, have both enjoyed and lauded the foamy amber goodness. Even an angry goddess, Sekhmet (http://gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/egypt/hathor.htm) succumbed to its sweet seduction.
Good friends, good ale, good times, and good conversations are a wonderful thing. The opportunity to unwind and be yourself, without censoring yourself, can be challenging for many in the non mainstream world. So enter the Pagan Pub Night social network, here in Metro Detroit.
There are several local breweries in our areas, and many have been home to various groups on their nights out. But this group is a long time body of dedicated ale lovers and tale tellers. They are something special, insofar as they plan and execute and engage in organized revelry. Every third Thursday, they meet at the Kunnhenn Brewing Company at 5919 Chicago Rd. Warren, MI 48092 http://www.kbrewery.com/ in Sterling Heights, MI, to
"meet up drink good beer (or whatnot) and freechat about whatever and make new friends in the Metro-Detroit area"
according to their description. Something that I can add, is that they also supply massive amounts of fun and positive energy.
For those of you so inclined, the Kuhnhenn Guild of Brewers, a homebrew club that meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 is at the brewery and can answer questions on how to make your own. After all, we are a "Crafty" folk! Contact them at (586)979-8361 for more information.
The next event is Thursday, September 19, 2013, from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
A great thinker, Benjamin Franklin, summed it up best when he said, “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.” Let us be happy together.
