Chicago’s Midway Airport is at Cicero Avenue (Illinois Highway 50) between 55th Street and 63rd Street. Chicago’s Madison Street marks the north-south line. The southern, Forest Preserve golf courses are Burnham Woods Golf Course, George W. Dunne National Golf Course, Joe Louis “The Champ” Golf Course, Meadowlark Golf Course and River Oaks Golf Course. Private vehicles are rental cars.

From Midway to Burnham Woods Golf Course (This course is at 14201 S. Burnham Avenue in Burnham, Ill.), driving golfers should take Cicero Avenue north approximately one mile to Interstate 55 and go east. They should continue east on I-55 to the Interstate 90/94 junction where they should take the ramp going east (south). Continuing on I-94 to 97th Street (At 65th Street, I-90 branches off to become the Chicago Skyway; drivers should not take this highway.), they should merge left to follow I-94 east (south) to Sibley Boulevard (147th Street) where they should exit going east. They should continue along Sibley to Burnham Avenue where they should turn left, going north. After going up and over the overpass, they will find the golf course’s entrance approximately ¼ mile on the right.

From Midway to George W. Dunne National Golf Course (This course is at 16310 S. Central Avenue in Oak Forest, Ill.), driving golfers should take Cicero Avenue (Illinois Highway 50) south for approximately 13 miles until they reach 159th Street (US Highway 6). At 159th Street, they should turn right, going west for one mile to Central Avenue. At Central Avenue, they should turn left and go ½ mile to the golf course’s entrance, which is on the right.

From Midway to Joe Louis Golf Course (This course is at 13100 S. Halsted Street in Riverdale, Ill.), driving golfers should take Cicero Avenue south to 127th Street (Burr Oak Avenue). At Burr Oak, they should turn left and go east for approximately 5 miles until they reach Halsted Street (Illinois Highway 1). At Halsted Street, they should turn right and go south. After crossing over the bridge, the course’s entrance is on the right after the first street.

From Midway to Meadowlark Golf Course (This course is at 11599 31st Street in Hinsdale, Ill.), driving golfers should follow the aforementioned directions for Burnham Woods, but instead of going east on I-55, they should go west. They should continue along westbound I-55 until Harlem Avenue (Illinois Highway 43) where they should exit and go north. Continuing along Harlem Avenue until 31st Street, driving golfers should then turn left, going west. The golf course’s entrance will be on 31st Street on the left after drivers go ½ mile past Wolf Road.

From Midway to River Oaks Golf Course (This course is at 1 Park Avenue in Calumet City, Ill.), golfers should follow the directions to Burnham Woods except that on eastbound I-94, they should continue past Sibley Boulevard and exit (going east) on 159th Street. The course’s entrance will be ¼ mile on the right.
