General Motors (GM) announced Wednesday that they will close their Hummer division. And attempted deal to sell Hummer to a Chinese automaker, Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines Co. Ltd fell through earlier in the day.

Hummer’s are a large SUV that was originally based on the Humvee for the military. Hummer’s are one of the most expensive vehicles when it comes to gas and mileage, and the sluggish economy has slowed sales as a result. GM only sold 9,046 Hummers in 2009, down from 71,000 in 2006.

After Saturn, and Pontiac, the Hummer is the third GM brand to close in the last year which is part of GM’s bankruptcy re-organization.

GM has approximately 3,000 US factory jobs that will be lost as a result of the loss of the China sale. Hummer has 370 dealers around the world and 153 in the US. Salt Lake City, Utah has a Hummer dealership off I-15.

What do you expect when the US keeps irritating China with arms sales to Taiwan and meeting with the slave master from Tibet.

While, the US claimed China was not doing enough on climate control. Now they are taking actions to control pollution by not buying Hummer!

So we have it again... Obama and his team purchase GM, and then gets rid of Hummer, which just happens to help transport our military world wide. What;s next? A ban on Aircraft Carriers? And how much pollution does a Hummer actually produce? Look it up... It;s not that much. Keep putting American Auto Builders out of work and see where the economy keeps heading.
