Starbucks has recently become a frequent stop for me, which I blame on the fact that there is one approx .25 miles from my house + the hot weather makes me want their Passionfruit tea even more. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised to see the new and improved gluten-free snacks that Starbucks has popping up in their stores.
Last year Starbucks introduced the gluten-free Valencia Orange Cake, and while that didn't take off, they have brought around a variety of delicious gluten free snacks that are perfect for travel or just a quick pick me up.
Darling Spuds - These have been popping up around various Starbucks stores and they are delicious. The company is originally from the UK, and right now you can only find their bags of chips in a Starbucks. The ingredients are simple - potatoes, sunflower oil, and salt, and they are a great way to satisfy any salty cravings without digging into a bag of greasy chips. The Crushed Natural Sea Salt ones are the perfect gluten-free snack or accompaniment to your lunch. Learn more about Darling Spuds at: http://www.darlingspuds.co.uk.
Lucy's Cookies - Lucy's cookies are a great gluten-free treat and the perfect dipper for your coffee or tea. All the cookies are vegan and gluten-free, and are only made with natural ingredients such as garbanzo flour and palm oil. Some of their flavors include Sugar Cookie, Cinnnamon Thin, Oatmeal, and Chocolate Chip. These cookies can also be found at Whole Foods and Sprouts markets throughout Orange County. Peter Rabbit Organics - This little gluten-free snack is sealed in a pouch to make it a quick and easy snack for on the go. The fruit snacks come in fun flavors such as Strawberry Banana, Apple and Grape, and Mango Banana Orange. It's a quick and easy way to get your full serving of fruit. Like Darling Spuds, Peter Rabbit Organics is also based out of the UK and can only be found at your local Starbucks. htp://www.peterrabbitorganics.com.
Other notable gluten-free snacks popping up around Starbucks in Orange County include fruit leathers from Stretch Island Fruit Company, Food Should Taste Good chips, and Sahale almonds.
With so many choices, Starbucks is sure to become a must stop for your gluten-free snacks (and their iced tea!) as well.
