For many who have adopted a gluten-free lifestyle, dining out can be a difficult experience. Cross-contamination might occur, the servers could be careless while putting in the order, a gluten-laden onion ring might appear, unwelcome, underneath the fries that were supposedly cooked in a 'separate fryer.' Luckily for the concerned gluten-free (GF), many restaurants in the Lafayette have put together GF menus, and are paying close attention to their food and how it is prepared.
One such restaurant is Chili's, which has a pretty robust GF menu. There are not just side salads and ketchup packets to be had here; Chili's GF items include its Original barbecue ribs, grilled salmon, loaded mashed potatoes, and an assortment of rather tasty hamburgers (sans bun, of course). There are even some kid's meal options, like the Grilled Chicken Platter and Little Mouth cheeseburger, for the young GF'er.
Chili's takes its gluten-free cooking seriously. After ordering, a manager will arrive to go over the order, and will even supervise the preparation and cooking. A GF order is prepared in a separate, non-contaminated area of the kitchen, and well-cleaned utensils and cookware are used.
