Almost everyone nowadays knows someone who has celiac disease or is otherwise gluten-free. Yet, people still struggle with finding products they can eat. That’s where the Gluten-Free Awareness Tour comes in play – they help promote celiac awareness and gluten-free products, as well as bring local experts to each of the cities on their stop.
The Detroit stop will be September 7 & 8. Speakers at the Detroit stop include Dr. Akua Woolbright from Whole Foods Market, Dr. Richard Saad from the University of Michigan, Dr. Velonda Thompson, and VeggiePatti. Vendors include Cousin Mary Jane’s, Sauce Goddess, Food for Life, and a whole lot more! There will be cooking demos and food samples as well.
The Detroit tour will be at the Doubletree Hotel Dearborn/Detroit located at 5801 Southfield in Detroit. Tickets are $10 or $15 for a two-day pass; kids 12 and under are free.
