If you eat a gluten-free diet because of Celiac disease or Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS), you know why you are and aren't eating certain foods. Some folks have chosen to not eat gluten for non-medical reasons. Similar to a low-carb diet, a gluten-free diet can omit many of the same ingredients and products.
It has become very fashionable in some areas to go on diets that omit entire food groups. And, if you feel better eating a certain way, who is anyone to tell you not to, right? What becomes comical (like laugh-out-loud funny), is when people make choices not to eat certain foods... but have no idea why they are not eating them.
On May 6, Jimmy Kimmel Live television show decided to shed some light on the topic. The pretext was simple, they wrote: "Some people can't eat gluten for medical reasons, but a lot of people in Los Angeles don't eat gluten because someone in their yoga class told them not to. Jimmy wondered how many of these people even know what gluten is, so we sent a camera crew out to a popular exercise spot here in LA and asked people who are gluten-free a simple question: "What is gluten?" #PedestrianQuestion
With just under 1 million hits on You Tube, everyone can enjoy a great example of laughing at ourselves... and others, too, while having a great guy like Jimmy Kimmel point out that there are real folks with real gluten issues, and some who are just there to entertain us.
