Gluten-Free Allergen-Free Expo comes to San Francisco (Photos)

The largest and fastest growing gluten-free consumer event in the United States, Gluten-Free Allergen Free Expo, will expand to San Francisco for the first time on February 9th and 10th. This two day event will allow consumers to sample gluten-free and other allergen friendly food products from over 100 vendors as well as view cooking classes and presenters. The Expo will even feature a dedicated nut-free section.

The presenter line up includes:

Dr. Peter Green, Director of The Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University, speaking on "Celiac & Gluten Sensitivities"

Melinda Dennis, M.S., R.D., L.D.N., Nutrition Coordinator and research investigator within the Celiac Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, presenting, "PART ONE: What if I Still Have Symptoms But I’m Gluten Free?"

Dr. Amy Burkhart, board certified Emergency Medicine Physician and Registered Dietitian. Trained in integrative medicine, she now has an integrative medicine practice and specializes in treating celiac disease, gluten intolerance and digestive ailments. Dr. Burkhart will present, "PART TWO: What if I Still Have Symptoms But I’m Gluten Free?"

Dr. Kenneth Fine, academic medical doctor, board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology will present, "The Gluten Truth: What Really Happened to the Bread of Life."

The Gluten & Allergen-Free Expo Vendor Fair will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, February 9 and Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the San Francisco Marriott Airport Waterfront Hotel. The cost to attend the Vendor Fair is $20 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 – 12. Early admission tickets (9 a.m.) are available for an additional fee online. General tickets are available online or at the door. As of today, the Web site warns that the expo will probably sell out so buying your tickets ahead of time online is recommended. The ticket price also includes an allergen-free arts and crafts area for kids, as well as staged presentations related to gluten-free living and cooking.
