Glue dots are perfect for a summer bonding project

When the St. Louis summer heat has you hiding in your house, it's time to break out the craft box and get to work. Your craft box ought to have all the basics for an impromptu craft. Crayons, markers, construction paper, scissors and...glue dots.

Glue dots aren't just for scrapbooking--they are an excellent alternative to regular glue for kid crafts. They're not messy, they don't dry out and they provide an instant bond--which is really great when you kid is antsy to handle the craft he or she just made.

They may not replace white glue or glue sticks for every use, but they're certainly wonderful for attaching google eyes that won't fall off, adding dimension to otherwise flat art, or adhering foam pieces together.

Not every kid feels creative, but it's important to ask them to try. Boys may not give you drawings of butterflies and glittery unicorns, but if you let them do as they please, you'll be amazed at their creativity. As long as you don't mind getting drawings of laser toting snails or B-52s.

Check out the slide show to see what you can do with a glue dot. Want to learn more about Glue Dots? Join the Glue Dot fan page at Facebook. It's full of ideas on things you can do with glue dots, besides, you know, gluing google eyes.
