Gloriana – the hot new group that includes a Georgia native – and Halloween top the agenda this weekend at Atlanta area country bars, nightclubs and honky tonks.

Cowboy’s in Kennesaw hosts Gloriana on Friday night (10/30). Nominated for a CMA award as “breakthrough artist of the year,” the foursome spent the summer touring with Taylor Swift. Gloriana released their first CD earlier this summer. Their first single, “Wild At Heart,” hit the Top 20 and the second, “How Far Do You Wanna Go?” came out last month. The group consists of two brothers, Tom and Mike Gossin, natives of New York; Rachel Reinert, a Marietta native; and Cheyenne Kimball, a native of North Carolina. Tickets are $10.

Meanwhile, Halloween is the name of the game this weekend. Cowboy’s Halloween party is Saturday (10/31), with cash prizes for the best costumes. At Wild Bill’s in Duluth, there are two holiday events. Wild Bill’s hosts a pre-Halloween bash on Thursday (10/29), with a $500 prize for the sexist costume. Saturday is Wild Bill’s Halloween masquerade and costume bash, with prizes of $1,500 to the best overall costume and $500 each for sexiest, scariest and most original. Tickets are $10 and $15 on Thursday, and $10 Saturday. (NOTE: Friday night is “fight night” at Wild Bill’s.)

Also this weekend you’ll find:

• Thomas Tillman at Ozone Bar & Grill in Covington. Tickets are $5.

• Nashville singer/songwriters Chris Bickhardt at The Swallow at the Hollow in Roswell Friday and Saturday nights. Bickhardt has written or co-written a number of hits, including the Judds’ Number One Hits “I Know Where I’m Going” and “Turn It Loose”, and the Ty Herndon chart-topper, “It Must Be Love.” Tickets are $15 for each show.

• Local bands and Halloween treats at Wild West Bar and Grill in Holly Springs.
