On Wednesday, February 6, starting at 6:30 pm, the Globe Dine Bar in Garden Grove will present a Brewmaster Tasting Event. As Michael Pauwatel, owner of the Globe said, "We started the Brewmaster Event from day one and has grown into a monthly event people look forward to. Every event is hosted by the US Importer, Cicerone or when in town the Belgian Brewmaster or Brewery rep."
February's event features a tasting with Cicerone Joseph Cartidge, Southern CA Area Representative of Pacific Liberations Importers. A Cicerone the the brewing industry's version of a wine sommelier. The beer featured Wednesday night is La Trappe Quad Trappist. This beer was started by Trappist monks within the Koningshoeven monastery in 1884. La Trappe beers are expertly made, clean and bright in character. Quadrupel is deep russet in color with sweet and spicy notes in the aroma. Very full bodied, sweetish and malty, but finishes with a drinkable balance and leaves a warming, soothing trail of happiness.
As Michael said, "The event gives our guest a chance to taste something new and delicious without having to buy it first." The event includes free tasters all. A highlight is the Signature Glassware Raffle which is held every 15 minutes. With better European beers, the glassware is designed specifically to accompany a certain beer, helping to shape the beers flavor and drinkability.
