Global warming wrap-up for 2010

Another year of global warming—or its hype—concludes.  Here’s what happened, or didn’t, in 2010.

  • Global warming changed its name this year, going first to “climate change,” then to the more inclusive and ever more alarmist “climate disruption,” thanks to John Holdren, Presidential Science Advisor, alarm mongerer, and character assassin.  Let it be shown that the name morphed from an inconclusive concept to an insidious fear.
  • Any change at all—from Death Valley droughts to San Diego mudslides, from mad-cow to blue-tongue disease, from increased malaria to frog infertility, from failed crops to Roma tomato recalls—was attributed to the disastrous climate phenomenon.  But the topper was blaming the COLD on global warming!
  • Temperature data from satellites show no warming but the adjusted data from NOAA and NASA do.  The keyword here is adjusted, because satellites just collect data from instruments, whereas the national organizations are instrumental in adjusting data for the result they get paid to get.
  • Despite the absence of any real warming this year--including the previous 10 to 15 years--the IPCC, that Idiotic Panel for Climatic Cataclysm, continues to hail the dire consequences in store for us all.  Ye lowlanders, find the ark and climb aboard!
  • Disgruntled with the corruption of global warming monies and fake science, Hal Lewis, an honorable and distinguished physicist and Professor Emeritus U.C. Santa Barbara, resigned from the American Physical Society.  The APS used to be an honorable and distinguished society of physicists until it refused to change its ignominious statement on global warming, citing certainty and settled science.  Oh, really, Hal Lewis wondered aloud.
  • The public climate on global warming retreated in earnest when ClimateGate revealed evidence that scientists cooked the books.  A straight line on the charts connected the dots from temperature data to political corruption.  This initiated their goose being cooked instead of the climate.
  • Europe backed off its draconian measures for reducing emissions.  Unlike the APS, Britain’s Royal Society attenuated its alarmist positionSpain openly admitted its renewable energy mandates cost them a whopping 21 percent unemployment.  Countries soon realized they spent enormous sums for nothing and committed their economies to demise for a hoax.
  • Then came Cancun.  The retreat was complete, and it was a nice warm conference for fewer delegates than ever before.  But China and Japan announced they would take no part in economic suicide, unlike the climate fashionistas in California who wear the global warming banner to their economic grave while leaving a legacy in Hollywood.
  • By defeating Proposition 23, California restored its faith in AB32’s ability to keep the world from boiling.  And showed the rest of the country that Californians really are off-the-wall! Soon, they will be calling on the rest of the country to bail them out of their self destruction.  Get your wallet ready to help the Left Coast off its homemade gangplank !
  • Despite a barrage of fear-mongering from its elected officials, Americans are more skeptical than ever about global warming.  They’re recognizing it as a political ploy to gain power and money.  Polls show 78% of people believing that whatever climate change there is has perfectly natural causes.  Sixty-nine percent desire that nothing be done.
  • That’s it.  2010 is DONE with global warming.  You know it’s a death knell when pop culture pokes fun at a popular concept. Like the new lyrics in the Neil Diamond song, global warming believers have morphed to deniers

You make a good point about the smarts of the American public. They do correct their mistakes. Except California. California is still the world leader -- but only in screwballs. If you want to find out what is silly, self destructive, and against common sense, see what's up in California.

Very good points and right on the button. There should be legal and criminal consequences to what California legislators and steroid taking governors should undergo for hurting their own citizens by enacting these draconian laws and regulations. But that is wishful thinking unless the rest of the United States steps in and takes control of these lunatics.
