Is global warming a hoax? Not according to some hackers who broke into the University of East Aglia's Climatic Research Unit. What these hackers found were many emails and documents that reveal scientists DO believe man-made global warming.
Much has been said about this issue and naysayers of man-made global warming, in spite of the documents, are saying what was leaked (or hacked) is a hoax.
It is hard to believe that there are some people in this world, who are educated people, that do not believe in man-made global warming. Where do these people hail from? Surely not from a large metropolitan area where in rush hour, you can't breathe and when you fly into your hometown airport all you see is a brown fog. If this isn't caused by man, where is it coming from?
For everything discovered there will be those who doubt until they see real proof. If carbon dioxide is not dangerous, then what is? What more do these deniers of man-made global warming need to convince them?
We, as a world, do seem to be looking at finding alternative energy sources that are safer for our environment. Leaders of every nation pretty much agree on this topic. To the people who say global warming is a hoax, perhaps they think new energy sources are just a way to stop oil prices from going up and giving discoverers of new sources a piece of the energy money pie.
Is global warming a hoax? I think not, especially the last time I flew into the Phoenix International Airport. Much as with any large towns, there is a brown haze over Maricopa County, and I, for one, am glad I live in Taos, New Mexico.
I would be interested in ways to redirect these doubters of man-made global warming from readers. What, if anything, do you do when approached by someone who doesn't believe in man-made global warming. Perhaps it's time for a word-of-mouth campaign, sort of like Pay-It-Forward.
