Human diversity is fast becoming the norm on a global scale. In the US, our neighborhoods are, more often than not, a mix of multi-ethnic people, some from other parts of this planet we call Earth. Once, there were whole neighborhoods comprised of single ethnic groups, but as time went on, we found ourselves living more often than not among people from other countries and cultures. It’s a grand experiment and learning experience, promoting tolerance for, and acceptance of, each other no matter our country of origin or cultural differences. “Us” and “them” has now become “we”, as we participate in the fascinating, and sometimes challenging, learning experience of integrating ourselves as a global society. We find ourselves growing more in knowledge and experience because of this.
These changes are reflected through commerce and industry, as most of us now consider it the norm to work among people from different countries and cultures. We are evolving into a beautiful, multi-colored tapestry of humanity, moving forward to an amazing future, sometimes despite ourselves. Let’s make the most of this opportunity to learn and grow as we share our beliefs and our cultures, as we continue to evolve on this small blue planet that we all call home.
