On Aug. 18, Taylor Swift was part of a Yahoo Live Stream broadcast in New York City. During the broadcast she officially announced her forthcoming fifth studio album, 1989, which will be released via Big Machine Records in the late fall. Moreover, her first single, "Shake It Off", and its music video premiered exclusively on Yahoo Live Stream, and it is now available for purchase on iTunes.

According to a press statement, the award-winning songstress remarked:

I spent two years making '1989.' Two years gives you enough time to grow and change and let things inspire you. I was listening to a lot of late 80's pop music and how bold those songs were and how that time period was a time of limitless possibilities. In thinking about that, this album is a rebirth for me. This is my very first documented, official pop album. '1989' is the most sonically cohesive album I have ever made and my favorite album I have ever made."

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter also revealed to her fans that in her "Swiftstakes" for her latest album, she is affording them with the opportunity to win such prizes as giveaways of up to 1,000 tickets, and a chance of over 500 meet-and-greets.

For the hardcore fans of T-Swift, she will be offering a deluxe edition of the album, which will include three additional songs, as well as three songwriting voice memos, the latter of which are personal audio recordings which give the fan a unique glimpse into Swift's songwriting process and how three of her songs on the new album were brought to life.

Her highly-anticipated upcoming studio album will be available for purchase in stores on Oct. 27.
