Global Marketing Management at Emerson College

Two years ago, I had the pleasure of speaking in a global marketing class at Emerson College in Boston. My presentation focused on public relations from a global perspective and gave students an insight to PR agency life.

Next week, I am presenting in Professor Cathy Waters’ Global Marketing Management course. On October 28th, 32 students will gather in the Walker Building on Boylston Street to hear insider tips and tricks from Boston-based communications professionals.

My presentation this year will be a series of three case studies: how to implement a social media program for a B2B tech company, how to measure a PR campaign and global PR in a shrinking world.

I’m excited to be back on Emerson’s campus this fall. What I especially like about the Emerson community is the sense of diversity, variety and common interest. With this particular class, the students will be part of an intense, one-year program studying global marketing and advertising. The students are in their early 20s and about half of them are from outside the United States. Upon graduation, the students will take positions both in-house and with agencies.

Professor Waters informed me that students from the 2009-2010 class took post-grad positions at Arnold, Edelman, Mercedes-Benz and Millennium Partners.

Stay tuned for a follow-up blog post where I will feature a recap of the presentation and Q&A session.
