Glide into the New Year with a Midnight Ski at Liberty

Have you ever gone skiing at midnight? Many people are electing to do so, this Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning at Liberty Mountain Ski Resort.

Liberty Mountain is holding an all-out New Year's Eve celebration, onsite, starting at 6 p.m. and lasting on through 1 a.m. Enjoy late night skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing all night long, and a wondrous fireworks display at midnight. Last year’s snow tubing party was canceled due to weather conditions, but this year’s snow tubing at Boulder Ridge is on, and attendees can even enjoy an extra-long three-hour long snow tubing session beginning at 10 p.m.

Even if you aren’t keen on skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing there is still plenty to come and experience at Liberty this evening. The Alpine Room and Alpine Market is the place to go for music, activities, food and a family-friendly New Year’s Eve blast. Kids will delight in a wonderful array of activities in a warmer environment. There will also be a balloon artist, and magic shows by Roger Lindsay, among other activities. A DJ will be live, getting the mood going for an exciting new year. A special late-night buffet will be served, with party favors available. A large big screen television set will be on stand-by playing Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve Show live. Come midnight, the Alpine Room offers up some of the best seating to view the fireworks spectacle in the midnight sky. No cover charge or reservations are required for this event, and may be purchased at the door.

If you want to take your family to a sit-down, slope-side dinner for your last meal of the year, you may want to stop in at McKee’s Tavern. Here you will enjoy New Year’s Eve specials crafted by the chefs onsite until 10 p.m. at night. From 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. there will be live music and entertainment. Though dinner stops at 10 p.m., the bar will remain open past midnight, serving up hot and cold drinks, along with sandwiches, munchies and snacks. There will also be a complimentary champagne toast at midnight and party favors!

Perhaps you’re looking for an enjoyable romantic, peaceful dinner just for you and your significant other. Then come and dine-in at The Inn from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for an all inclusive dinner for two, for the price of $120 per couple. Dinner includes four courses and a split of champagne or sparkling apple cider. Reservations for this romantic dinner are recommended and may be made by calling 717-642-8282.

Throughout the evening, Playcare will be available, on site, until 1 a.m. Note: there is no separate room available for sleep time, however, port-a-cribs and nap mats will be available for children requiring rest time. Rates are the same as Liberty’s daycare options, and reservations are required. You may find out more by calling 717-642-8282 ext. 3400.

If you find that you are too tired to make the trek back home, you may want to consider lodging at Liberty from one of the available overnight packages. You may view the available packages by clicking here.
