Glenwood Springs has long been known for gorgeous scenery, high canyon walls, the hot springs pool and slide and the beautiful hike up to Hanging Lake but now the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park wants you to think thrills and adventure when you think of this area of the Western Slope of Colorado.
The Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park has started construction of two new attractions, a bungee jump and a zip line, with the placement of a tower that will serve as the jumping off point for both. The bungee jump will feature an adrenaline-pumping 70-foot drop. The zip line will carry two riders at a time 625 feet down the mountain, soaring over the top of the alpine coaster. Other attractions include guided tours of Glenwood Caverns and Historic Fairy Caves, gondola rides, bungee trampolines, laser tag, the state’s only 4-dimensional ride theater and mountain-top restaurants.
“These attractions will allow us to continue to provide our guests with new ways to enjoy the park and help reduce the wait times for other rides on busy summer days,” said Steve Beckley, who owns Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park with his wife Jeanne.
Beckley added, “The incredible response to our Giant Canyon Swing this summer supported our decision to add another extreme adventure — and the bungee jump will definitely fit into the extreme category — and the zip line is something that our customers have been requesting for several years.”
Pricing for the zip link will be included in the day pass price with an additional charge for the extra adventurous who want to try the bungee jump.
