Glenn Shadix, best known for his role as Otho in 'Beetlejuice' died on Tuesday at age 58.
Glenn Shadix died after a fall in his Alabama home, according to the actor sister, Susan Gagne. Shadix, who played Otho, the interio designer in 'Beetlejuice,' was "having mobility problems" and possibley fell out of his wheelchair and "hit his head in the kitchen."
Shadix, whose real name was William G. Scott, Shadix engaged in a long professional relationship with 'Beatlejuice' director, Tim Burton. Burton also cast the Glenn Shadix in Planet of the Apes and used his voice in The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Glenn Shadix appeared on various television shows including, Carnivàle, ER, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, and Seinfeld.
According to Wikipedia, Shadix, who was openly gay, underwent electroconvulsive aversion therapy as a teenager in an unsuccessful attempt to become straight. In 2007 Glenn Shadix left Hollywood and moved home to Alabama, where he bought his dream home. A home that was destroyed in a fire during December of 2008. Shadix told the media, "I have lost my dream."

Billy Glenn has been my friend since 1971, and I'll miss him more than words can say. He had the biggest heart and one of the sweetest and most loving smiles I ever saw. I love him dearly for his friendship and kindness, admire him greatly for his acting talent, and honor him highly for his activism in his quest for gay rights.
