Glenn Beck: The New Media Must "Link Arms"

Conservative talk radio and online television host Glenn Beck is putting out a call to arms - along with a "Freedom of Speech" Alert.

Beck left The Fox News Channel and took the bold step of relocating his business to Dallas Texas and launched The Blaze (formerly GBTV) . The network's catch phrase is "Truth Lives Here."

The online magazine The Blaze, covers the breaking news stories of the day.

His Blaze television network is a reasonably priced subscription service, provided streaming over the internet, is located on Channel 212 on Dish Network and can also be ordered via Roku.

If you haven't heard of it, Roku is a little box that you can buy for $99 and it streams television and movies via wi-fi on your television for no recurring monthly fee, with the exception of subscription channels like Netflix.

Last month, Beck asked his listeners and viewers to help grow his Blaze Network - "The Network YOU are building."

He encouraged his 10 million radio listeners and viewers to contact their cable carriers, like Direct TV, Comcast, Verizon- and ask that they carry The Blaze on their stations. You can call, e-mail or contact them through their Twitter and Facebook pages.

After all, if you are a cable subscriber, your money is already bankrolling MSNBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS a host of other foreign news and overwhelmingly number Leftist leaning "information" channels. And as of July, you will be helping to pay the salaries of Al Jazeera TV. (Al Gore recently sold his Current TV to Al Jazeera for an amazing sum of money- considering the low viewing audience they have).

Now- Beck has put out a call to all journalists and bloggers to "Link Arms"- and to share information with one another -in order to get news and information out to wider and broader audiences- outside the mainstream media.

Much the same as Andrew Breitbart did, the movement will strive to have information sharing between writers such as myself and other Examiner writers, independent journalists and bloggers.

On this morning's show, Beck pointed out that the currency and banking story in Cyprus broke on Twitter! And that the traditional news channels were mostly silent on this economic story.

It's becoming increasingly clear that Facebook has been censoring Conservative journalists and in particular "Citizen Journalists" who post stories to that social media site. Censorship is a very dangerous thing in a "free" society. The control of the flow of information will threaten our civil society.

We will not stand for control of or taxation of The Internet.

The American People will not stand for a bureau of government controlled media. Or, as Rush Limbaugh calls it "State Controlled Media."

If YOU are a Conservative Citizen Journalist, blogger or a concerned citizen who watches the news cycle- please heed the warning signs. Please take action. And YES- LINK ARMS- and share your news and information.
