Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Glenn Beck once again apologized for calling President Barack Obama a racist, while going on to imply that President Obama is actually demonic.
In the interview, Beck claimed that Obama is practicing a demonic form of Christianity. For Beck, any sort of "liberation theology" is demonic. However, it is unclear if Beck even knows what liberation theology is. Indeed, it is unclear whether or not Beck could distinguish his anus from a hole in the ground.
This is not the first time Beck, self professed rodeo clown and America's favorite fascist for Jesus, has claimed that President Obama is demonic, or compared President Obama to Lucifer. Beck has made a very good living playing to his racist Tea Party base. Comparing Obama to Lucifer, calling President Obama a racist, or implying President Obama is demonic, is simply red meat to the ugly and ignorant segment of American society seduced by the Fox News snake oil salesman.
Beck's fixation on the evils of liberation theology is a common theme of the right wing nut's religious rants. Beck's claim that Obama isn't a Christian, because he practices a perversion of Christianity, is ludicrous. To dismiss liberation theology as a perversion of Christianity is like calling Christ a pervert. There is nothing more Christian than a passion for social justice.

Beck, of course, seems extreme and bold to most Americans regardless of political persuasion. It is this boldness that is both enlightening and threatening depending on one's bent.
