Entertainment Weekly spoke with Glen Mazzara on Feb. 10 about Rick's hallucinations and what the future may hold for the entire group. The interview does contain spoilers, so if you do not want to know the future of the show, then do not continue reading.
When discussing Rick's hallucination of Lori, Glen Mazzara says that fans need to pay attention to the exact moment when he saw her. It was right when he was about to let Tyrese and his group join them and Rick just lost it.
He also says that Hershel has spent the first half of season 3 being cared for by Rick and the rest of the group, but now that Rick is not well, Hershel needs to step up. Glen Mazzara said,
"Hershel is now back and he's ready to kiss ass with his one good leg."
So, what will happen to the group if Rick's hallucinations do not go away? What if Rick just cannot take any more stress? "The Walking Dead" showrunner said that he is cracking under pressure, just when the group needs him the most. He did not give any hints as to whether Rick will recoup mentally or not, but since he is the star of the show, fans are assuming that he will get better right in the nick of time.
What do you think of what Glen Mazzara had to say about Rick's hallucinations? Are you excited to watch the next episode of "The Walking Dead" to find out how the group will cope with Rick's mental state?
