Glen Mar parties hearty next weekend for 35th anniversary

Glen Mar Golf and Country Club turns 35 this year and that number will play through next weekend and throughout the season during a tasty special.

The west-end track gets the party started on May 31 by welcoming players to shoot for birdies while sharing a cart for the $35 plus HST fee.

Next on the tee will be two shotgun-style scramble events on June 1. Everyone is encouraged to enter the first fun tourney starting at 7:30 a.m. and a member-only shotgun-style scramble celebrates the anniversary starting at 1 p.m.

The marathon bash rolls into June 2 when all are welcome to sign on for another amazing day of golf while sharing a cart for $35.

And on each Friday during the 2014 season, Glen Mar will host a Nine and Dine get-together from 3 p.m. until close. Participants get golf, cart and dinner for the magical $35 plus HST total.

Glen Mar Golf and Country Club plays to par 72. There are three sets of tee boxes measuring 6,339 from the blue tees, to 6,088 from the whites and it’s 5,609 from the yellows.

The course is located near Stittsville and just minutes from Kanata.
