Glee star Lea Michele, who credits a vegan diet and rigorous dance training for her fit size-2 physique, flaunts her tan, toned legs in the December 2011 issue of Glamour, which named her of the its Women of the Year.
American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, 42, is also an honoree. Both Lea and Jennifer will pick up their awards at a ceremony to be held in New York on Nov. 7, 2011.
I Was Told I Wasn't Pretty & To Get a Nose Job
Lea, who defied advice from previous managers to get a nose job, says playing the driven Rachel Berry on Glee has made her more confident.
“Rachel doesn’t look like everyone else, but her confidence takes her past that; she overcomes," says Michele, 25.
"Glee has made me feel beautiful," said the 5'2" brunette. "Now when people say that I don't feel like they're lying.
"How many managers told me, ‘Get a nose job. You’re not pretty enough’? But I proved them wrong."
'Glee Is Only the Beginning'
Lea's co-stars say she's an inspiration to girls who don't look like like a cookie-cutter, size 0 Barbie doll.
“In an industry where girls are expected to look and act a certain way, (Lea) isn’t afraid to be her own person," says her Glee costar Jonathan Groff. "She inspires me.”
The ambitious Michele plans to continue singing, dancing and acting well after her Glee character graduates from high school.
"I don’t stop. It’s my nature," she says. "People have to tell me to slow down. I plan on playing every role on Broadway...I want to do movies, make music. Glee is only the beginning.
“I have this fire in me and it’s only getting stronger.”
