Golden Globe award winning actress Jane Lynch was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame held on Sept. 4, 2013, in Hollywood, Calif. Lynch received the 2,505th star to grace the streets of Hollywood and is located on 6640 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Sports Center Store. Jane celebrated the honor with "Glee" writer Ryan Murphy.
"The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is excited about honoring one of Hollywood's funniest actresses, the incomparable Jane Lynch," stated Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. "We know the fans will be thrilled to see her on our famous walk! Hopefully they will wear their tracksuits in her honor!"
Actress Jane Lynch started her acting career with The Second City and Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. But her career hit the stratosphere when she first appeared in the FOX comedy "Glee," as the tracksuit-wearing, backstabbing, basketball-dribbling Sue Sylvester. Lynch has gotten critical praise and awards for her performance in "Glee." In 2011 Lynch was a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role in "Glee" and in 2010 Lynch was honored with a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for this role in 2011 and for the upcoming Primetime Emmy Awards this September.
Lynch has also starred in the STARZ show "Party Down," the Lifetime original series "Lovespring International," Showtime's "Weeds," the ABC hit series "Desperate Housewives" and in 2012, Lynch hosted the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
