‘Glee’ star Chris Colfer stopped by ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ last night, January 30th to chat about several things, including being starstruck and tonight’s ‘Glee’ Michael Jackson tribute episode (which airs in Flint on WSMH FOX66). Colfer followed Leno's first guest, multi-Grammy winner (and Michigan native) Madonna, whom he told Leno he’s never met and doesn’t want to meet because he’s ‘a freak’ when it comes to meeting other stars.
Leno laughed and asked why and Colfer recounted seeing Helena Bonham Carter at last year’s Golden Globe Awards on the red carpet. He said, ‘I saw her face and I screamed’ (and he demonstrated with a loud scream). Carter said ‘Oh hello’ in return and Colfer said he cried.
Colfer admitted he’s a huge fan of Madonna and has never been to a Madonna concert. He told Leno he really wanted to go growing up, but his family never allowed it.
They also discussed tonight’s highly anticipated ‘Glee’ Michael Jackson tribute episode. Colfer relayed that they worked really hard, and for any show, they work for around 4 hours on a number in the dance hall. They also might shoot any single number 40 times to get it from lots of angles. He said,
‘Michael Jackson, we really burned some carbs.’
Leno asked what kind of costume he was wearing and Colfer said:
‘I wore a leather jumpsuit for the entire episode and I’m still having a rough time with it.’
Leno showed a still shot of Colfer in the suit and remarked that it looked like he had ‘some sort of hemorrhoid problem’. Colfer said:
‘I probably had a yeast infection after that. I know I’m not capable. It was rough, it was really, really tight. My ass looked great, so that’s all that matters.’
Flint area Gleeks, like Vicki Rodabaugh, are really looking forward to tonight’s MJ episode. Rodabaugh can’t wait to see what Chris Colfer is going to do. She said:
‘Chris is such an amazing performer. I can’t wait to see him in that jumpsuit rockin’ out to Michael Jackson. I’m wondering if he’s got a solo spot and if so, on what song. Whatever it is, no doubt it’s going to be colorful in only the way that Chris can bring it.’
Colfer didn’t reveal which numbers he is going to be involved with tonight. But GleeonFox did release a teaser video on January 29th, in which Colfer jokingly plugs watching ‘Michael Bolton’ then laughs and says ‘Jackson’.
