WARNING: This article contains spoilers for upcoming "Glee" episodes. Read at your own risk! Gleeks at large were thrilled to see the return of the show last night, Feb. 25, after the long winter hiatus. It’s clear Rachel (Lea Michele) has been focusing on her “Funny Girl” role while coping with Finn’s (Cory Monteith) death. Fans are wondering, though, if Rachel will ever find love again. According to a Feb. 25 TVLine report, “Glee” co-creator Brad Falchuk said, “We’re really focused on her professionally right now. That’s probably the best thing.”
When pressed about whether Rachel could strike up a relationship with Sam (Chord Overstreet) after there seemed to be a small spark in a previous episode, Falchuk said, “There was a hint. I think there’s something nice about those two, but not yet.”
Sam will be one of the characters transitioning to the all New York story line because he decides to pursue modeling. Artie (Kevin McHale) will also be arriving in Brooklyn for film school and Blaine (Darren Criss) will make the jump to NYC to attend NYADA and be with his fiancé Kurt (Chris Colfer).
The idea of a new love for Rachel seems too soon to consider. Even seven months post Cory Monteith's death, the grief still seems so fresh across the "Glee" fandom. But, Lea Michele continues to receive tremendous social media support and is continually commended for her strength.
Lea is keeping busy with other non "Glee"-related projects including her debut solo album "Louder's" impending March 3 release and her first book "Brunette Ambition's" release on May 13.
When questioned herself about a new love for Rachel Lea Michele told TVLine, “I leave that all up to Ryan Murphy. He’s in charge.”
In the near future, Rachel will most likely be dealing with the fallout of her vicious fight with Santana (Naya Rivera) which prompted her to move out of the loft, leaving her Lima rival behind with her BFF Kurt. Boo hoo!
She’s also going to have to learn to cope with facing Santana at rehearsals in each day with her being Rachel’s understudy. Just how is that going to work, anyway?
In other “Glee” news, according to the report Will (Matthew Morrison) and Emma (Jayma Mays) will be expecting a baby and Sue (Jane Lynch) will finally succeed in her quest to disband New Directions.
We know the McKinley story line is going away. But, the thought of Sue winning and blowing apart New Directions is simply much too unbearably sad.
What do you think? Do you want Rachel to find love and if so, how do you feel about the possibility of her and Sam hooking up? And, will you be sad to see New Directions disband? Or, are you excited for an all New York story line? Sound off in the comments below!
