“Glee” star Naya Rivera hints Santana may end up moving to New York in reaction to seeing Brittany (Heather Morris) dating Sam (Chord Overstreet).
In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter dated Jan. 11, the ex-Cheerio discusses potential ways in which the face-off between the ladies could go.
While many fans of the television musical would love for Santana to stick around, mend her broken heart, and move on as she takes on new projects in her school, Rivera hinted she might actually take off to New York.
Fans took a liking to the Brittney and Santana duo while it lasted. When they learned Brittany was dating Sam instead, things took a turn. She explains:
"Fans are very passionate about Brittany and Santana, as we hoped that they would be, being one of the first teenage lesbian couples to be taken seriously on television -- it's a big deal,"
"I understand how they feel. Brittany and Sam have their cute moments, and at the end of the day, I think they should know it's good for everyone to grow. There's always hope for Brittany and Santana. Every single time you watch them, they have this longing. So, we'll see."
Naya Rivera went on to tease fans about whether Santana will take her broken heart and rest it on a friend’s couch:
"We're really close."
"Rachel and Kurt have a really big loft and a couch!"
"If she went to New York, I feel like she'd have so many things to figure out -- where to live, first and foremost.”
"I think anything could happen."
