Glee” fans were devastated at the loss of Cory Monteith 6 months ago but no one felt that loss more personally, perhaps, than co-star and girlfriend Lea Michele. According to Wetpaint on Jan. 28, Michele sat down with Teen Vogue to talk about many things, including the “insane love” she and Monteith shared.

The interview which will appear in the issue on newsstands Feb. 4 was done with her best friend, Jonathon Groff. Here are some of her responses to Groff’s questions.

On Glee:

“During Glee, I felt like I was scratching that itch of being an artist. I was at a great place in my life and I was so unbelievably happy — my relationship with Cory made me feel like I could reach for the stars and more.”

On her solo album:

The actress credits Monteith with giving her the strength to pursue a solo album. She says he was her biggest fan and supported her in everything she attempted. He would listen to her songs and then give her notes. “Battlefield” was one he loved but “Burn with You” was his favorite, she said.

Her own favorite from the album is “Your Mine” because she had a deeply emotional reaction to it. She says the song is special to her “because that’s my relationship with Cory. [...] But I somehow feel like the insane love Cory and I had for each other morphed into this strength I have right now. There’s just something about knowing he’s watching everything I’m doing and feeling like I have to do everything now not just for but for him.”

The 100th episode of “Glee” is not far away and it promises to be a spectacular event. Special guest stars, a fan-picked song list and a scene remembering Monteith are part of the event.
