In the TV hit series Glee Amber Riley plays hip-hop diva "Mercedes" and can rock any tune, despite being turned down by American Idol at the precious age of 17.
Now, Amber Riley is rockin' the set and isn't such a far fetch from the feisty character she plays on TV.
Amber revealed to Life&Style magazine that she's more than just her size.
“You’re not your dress size, you’re not your shoe size, you’re not your pants size," she says.
"If I’m going to wear a name tag, it’s going to say ‘Amber Riley,’ not ‘Fat Girl’!”
Amber, who is happy to say she rocks a size 16, looks up to Queen Latifah, someone who's also been known to knock the media for being size-obsessed.
On her American Idol rejection? The star says it isn't a thing.
“You know what? I still work on FOX and I get paid!” Amber said. “Thank you, ‘American Idol!’”
