'Glee:' Lea Michele apologizes to Patrick McMullan over Time gaffe

"Glee" star Lea Michele is playing nice on Twitter after realizing she potentially made a mistake at the Time 100 Gala last week. Famed celebrity photographer Patrick McMullan was trying to grab a few shots of the actress, but there was one problem -- he didn't know who she was, and she decided instead to tell him that her name was either "Sarah Palin" or "Taylor Swift." McMullan said goodbye pretty fast after that, and reports started hitting the web.

Now, Michele has an innocent explanation -- it was meant as a joke, even if the comments didn't ultimately turn out that way:

"Big apology to @PatrickMcMullan. Totally didn’t expect you (or anyone) @Time 100 to know who I was w/all the amazin people there:)

Made a silly joke that didn’t go over, so sorry. It was such an incredible night and I was beyond honored and thrilled to be there:)"

So far, McMullan hasn't replied to the apology -- but that's not really too big a deal since he hasn't even been on Twitter in the past month to post anything new.

Do you think Lea did the right thing by apologizing, or should she have even been required to? Let me know your thoughts with a comment and stay tuned for more of the latest news .To read my most recent show recap, click here -- you can also view photos at this link.
